How Kyle Kensrue, doing business as PitchWire (“PitchWire”, “we”), handles personal data — both yours as a customer and your buyers’ when they open a deck you sent. Written to describe what the product actually does. Last updated 19 September 2026.
- No ad tracking
- No data selling
- GDPR — DPA available
- US hosted
We handle two different kinds of data, under two different roles
This distinction runs through the whole page, so it comes first.
Your account data — your name, email, workspace, billing. For this we are the controller: we decide what to collect and why, and this policy governs it.
Your buyers’ engagement data — who opened the deck you sent, which slides they read, for how long. For this we are a processor acting on your instructions. You are the controller. You decide who receives a link and what you do with what you learn, and you are responsible for having a lawful basis to send it and for telling recipients if your jurisdiction requires it.
If you are a viewer who opened a PitchWire link and wants your data removed, contact the person or company who sent you the link — they control it. If you cannot reach them, email support@getpitchwire.com and we will help you identify them.
What we collect from you, the customer
Your name and email address, your workspace and its members, the decks you upload and the deals you create, and your subscription status. Authentication runs on Stytch; we keep a salted scrypt hash of your password, never the password itself. Billing runs on Stripe; we never see or store your card number.
We also keep ordinary operational logs — timestamps, error traces — needed to run and debug the service.
What we record about the people who open your decks
When someone opens a tracked link, PitchWire records which slides were opened, how long each was viewed, repeat visits, and when a link is first opened by a new viewer. Viewers do not need an account and nothing is installed on their device.
The full description lives on the security page and is deliberately kept in one place so the two cannot drift apart.
We do not use this data to build advertising profiles, we do not combine it across unrelated customers, and we do not sell it. It exists to tell the sender how their deck was read.
This website
getpitchwire.com uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is cookieless: it sets no cookies and stores no cross-site identifier that could follow you to another site. It records aggregate page views and performance timings.
We therefore show no cookie consent banner, because there is no tracking that would require consent. The only thing this site stores in your browser is a flag remembering that you dismissed the beta announcement, which is strictly functional and never leaves your device.
Visitors from the EU are included in these analytics. The measurement is cookieless and does not identify anyone.
AI and your deck content
Uploading a deck sends each slide as an image to Anthropic’s Claude so its layout and text can be read and personalised, and Refine sends a slide’s text the same way. Under Anthropic’s commercial terms these inputs are not used to train models. The security page sets out exactly what is and is not sent, including for the Claude and ChatGPT connector you can enable yourself.
Who else processes this data
PitchWire runs on Render in the United States and uses a small set of subprocessors — Neon, Cloudflare R2, Stytch, Anthropic, Resend and Stripe — plus Slack, HubSpot and Salesforce only if you connect them yourself.
The complete, current list with what each one does is on the security page. It is maintained there rather than copied here, so there is one list and it cannot go stale in two places.
How long we keep it, and how to get it deleted
Deleting a deck deletes its links and their engagement history along with it. Account data is kept while your account is open.
For a full export or deletion of your account’s data, email support@getpitchwire.com from your account address and we will take care of it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. We honour these for account data regardless of where you are.
Exercise any of them by emailing support@getpitchwire.com from your account address. We reply within a business day and do not charge for it.
For engagement data about a viewer, see the first section — the customer who sent the link is the controller, and requests belong with them.
Where the data lives
PitchWire is hosted in the United States (Render, Ohio region). If you are outside the US, using PitchWire means your data is processed there. For EU and UK customers we offer a data processing agreement covering the transfer — email info@getpitchwire.com and we will send it.
Security
Encryption in transit and at rest, per-recipient links with expiry and immediate revocation, and the current SOC 2 position (we have not started an audit, and the page will say so when we do) are all set out on the security page.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal data in a way that affects you, we will update the date at the top and email account holders before the change takes effect. This version is dated 19 September 2026.
